Sons and daughters and in between
Odin bids me heed his call
To tell the folk what I have seen

The giants raised me, fed me bread
Left with Nine Maids of the sea
I saw nine worlds, alive and dead
And Yggdrasil, the world tree

No sand nor sea nor cooling waves
In the days before Ymir's kin
No earth nor sky nor eagles gaze
To see Ginnungagap begin

Odin and his brothers schemed
To build a world shaped by their hands
The sun shone bright, the grass was green
Midgard was a fertile land

The sun did not know when to shine
Traveled on horse back, east to west
The stars did not know when to shine
The moon did not know when to rest

The Holy Gods in council met
To name the morning, noon, and night
The Holy Gods would not forget
The passing of times constant flight

The Aesir met at Idavoll
Building homes, the rooftops gleamed
In sight of Hars Gold Hall
They raised the tools to forge their dreams

Of rotting flesh and Ymir's bones
They gave life to the lord of dwarves

Motsognir they made, a Dwarven leader
Then made mighty Durin
They made many man like creatures
And all of them were named by Durin

Austri, Vestri, Alþjófr, Dvalinn,
Nár, Náinn, Nípingr, Dáinn
Bívurr, Bávurr, Bömburr, Nóri,
Ánn, Ánarr, Óinn, Mjöðvitnir.

Veggr, Gandálfr, Vindálfr, Þorinn,
Þrár, Þráinn, Þekkr, Litr, Vitr,
Nýr, Nýráðr, Reginn, Ráðsviðr
So did Durin name the dwarves
